Usage and billing
Successful requests made with an account-backed API key are attributed to the organization that owns the key. View request totals, measured quantity, and spend in the KittenML Usage dashboard.
Older migrated ASR keys remain supported for compatibility, but they are not attached to a Playground organization and therefore do not appear in an organization's Usage dashboard. Create an account-backed key for usage attribution and billing history.

KittenTTS still requires a TTS-enabled key. Successful generations appear in
usage history with their generated audio duration and a $0.00 cost.
When usage is recorded
- Usage is recorded only after inference completes successfully.
- Upload STT uses the decoded input duration.
- Realtime STT uses the final audio duration for the completed session.
- TTS uses the duration of the generated audio.
- Authentication failures and failed inference do not create successful usage records.
Paid ASR must have enough available credit when a new request or session is
admitted. Free KittenTTS remains available at a zero or negative wallet balance
as long as the key is valid and has the tts:generate permission.
Retain the response request_id when reconciling a specific request with your
usage history or contacting support.
